Educational captioning offers immediate access to the instructor's dialogue with any Internet-connected computer, plus a full transcript of the session saved directly to the student's computer.
This is an ideal solution when ASL interpreters are unavailable or in limited supply. It is a preferred method of assistance and accommodation for both deaf and hard-of-hearing students including those students not fluent in sign language. It is also a tremendous educational extension, which focuses on improving reading skills over the course of the semester or school year. Realtime captioning can be viewed by many simultaneous viewers allowing an entire class to view the text or allow remote participation.
