Stenocaptioner Qualities

1. Team player, able to work within Caption Colorado's policies, procedures, and guidelines.
2. Clean, consistent writer.
3. Conflict-free and uses prefixes, suffixes, etc. in writing style.
4. Reliable, punctual, willing to learn, and receptive to suggestions.
5. Personal commitment to excellence in developing and maintaining superior realtime captioning skills.
6. Self-motivated, independent, problem solver.
7. Computer hardware/software technical knowledge or willingness to learn it.

Contact will be made upon the file review.  Several types of position are available:  full-time and part-time, morning and evening, and weekend and weekday.  Captioners work into full-time positions as work becomes available.  Starting part-time is mandatory for new realtime captioners.  Time is needed to refine skills and to reduce the error rate to 1% or less before acquiring more work.
